The Perfect Finish: A Machine Quilting and Edge Finishing workshop In this multi-day workshop explore everything related to completing your beautiful quilt tops… Start with Sue’s machine quilting techniques for successful quilting on the home sewing machine. Discussion will include threads, batting and all supplies related to machine quilting.
Working on small practice pieces, Sue will cover marked designs as well as stipple quilting and variations. Next, students will create a mini-quilt to incorporate machine quilting and creative edgings for your quilts. Sue will step by step take you through the finished edge. This will include traditional bindings, piped bindings, scalloped edge bindings and a wonderful loopey edge binding. Students will add these to their mini-quilt for a reference guide for future projects.
The last two days of the workshop choose your own project. Sue will have choices that include a small feather wall quilt, table runner, purse or sewing kit. This project will incorporate what you have learned in the machine quilting and edge finishes…
