Often described as an “artist with a sewing machine”, Paula is a custom heirloom-quilting specialist. She has vigorously attacked the stacks of tops residing in many quilters’ homes. Paula is not a “formula quilter” – but prefers to look at the top as a whole and design a quilting plan to enhance the piecing. She uses heirloom feathers and other intricate designs plus produces very contemporary work in novelty threads as well. Paula has the distinction of quilting numerous quilts for Alex Anderson, TV personality.

MACHINE QUILTING 101 Starting with an exploration of battings, needles and threads, Paula takes you through all of the stages of quilting your top. From pinning it up through straight stitching and free motion, you will master the art of getting larger quilts through a domestic machine. The biggest quilt that Paula has quilted on her home machine is 112”x128”. She will share her methods, tips and tricks so that you can quilt your large quilts at home, too!
