SUZANNE MARSHALL ----- Clayton, Missouri

Suzanne taught herself to quilt from a library book about 25 years ago because her four children needed covers on their beds. Suzanne still has not taken any quilting classes and is now amazed that she finds herself teaching and lecturing all over the country. Suzanne's quilts have won numerous awards including: One of the Twentieth Century's 100 Best American Quilts, Silver Award in Fabric Gardens, Osaka, Japan and First Prize Quilt Expo III, The Hague, Holland. Suzanne was selected to be included in the "30 Distinguished Quilt Artists of the World Exhibit" in Tokyo, Japan

SUPERIOR HAND APPLIQUE Our focus will be developing skills in hand appliqué by working on patterns featuring animals, birds and florals. A selection of patterns will be provided for your choice. We’ll use “take-away appliqué”, a unique method for appliquéing a multi-pieced pattern without marking the background fabric or using transparent overlays. Unfinished appliqué projects may be brought for a “working consultation” and “tutorial” to solve problems. Try hand quilting without a frame or a hoop.

Hand. All levels.
